Thought I had until now.. lol

just converted kg into lbs

im nowhere near at the min, and probably never will be again.

But Ive benched 62.5kg aside 308.

80kg aside on squat, which I thought was 400lbs, but apparently not.. lol its only 396 if id have know that id have stuck a little lad on as I think I did 4 reps... bastard.

240kg deadlift 529 lbs.

The benching tore my pec ( not ego lifting, just going heavy every session, for some reason i was benching 300 once maybe twice a week every week for a 12 month period.. then 1 day, my tendons protested..lol

The squats started fucking my knees. didnt use straps or ewt. Only went heavy like that for a month or 2 then decided id rather be able to walk when im 60.

Only did the 240 deadlift twice, got the 240, backed off a bit doing reps, went back upto 200 and that felt heavy, a month or 2 after going 240 for first time was in gym, felt good, hit 240 again.. seemed to go up quite smooth, slow but steady.. went for 250, jesus, was like someone had bolted it to the floor..lol and i twinged my back.. so though fuck that as well.

That was my final lesson.. im not 25 or even 35 anymore.. bollox to the heavys..

i didnt do all that in the same time period.. just over the years, when ive had an urge to go for a big lift.

Bertyb age is a bitch mate. It does not get any easier when you get over 60 I can promise you buddy.

But I must say I have been trying to focus on getting my squats back to where they could be. Found that focusing on perfect form, shins and back parallel, while not pushing my max lift weight up has put half an inch on my thighs. Front squats particularly helping me get form as tight as possible.

Sorry to hear about the pec, how long ago what that?

It was a while ago now bud.. 2011.. so 7 yr.
With regards the squat.. I was doing a lot of Hiit work a while back.. was ok at it too.. but all that jumping about and still squatting started playing my knees up.. didnt put 2 and 2 together for a while.. but over the last few year.. ive backed away from hiit training when ive been knackered.. and both times.. my knees got better.. happened again this year.. i work 12 hr shifts.. and was doing a bit of overtime.. ended up fucked.. so knocked all the hiit cv stuff on the head.. that was about 3 month ago.. my knees feel brand new.. and i can actually challenge myself on the squat again.. for ages.. i couldnt even do 20kg aside knees strapped up.. but im back upto 50kg aside in this short time.. im not gonna be going for 4 plates again though..lol maybe 3 for a few reps.. that'd be pretty awesome for me..lol
Gotta say though bud.. the stats n stuff you put up.. you sound a bit of a beast.. even at 60. Proving age is just a number...

You guys are much better that me in the lower body.

I benched 160kg (352)

But I've never tried one rep max for either of the other lifts.

But my guess would be that I'd be close to 400 for squat (probably a bit under) and I'd be nowhere near the deadlift. Probably wouldn't get 400 in the deadlift.

Bench - 402lbs
Squat - 465lbs
Deadlift - 640lbs

Bw 235lbs

Not great, but not a power lifter so it’ll do.

Mate you should seriously thin of doing power lifting - your dead lift is right up there with the elite guys at about 10kg heaver than you too.

Aye mukka happens to all of us. Add age to that equation and it is a cruel thing I tell you.

Thanks viz.

I was actually sighed up for a powerlifting meet about 4 years ago when I was 17 and 3 weeks before the meet I tore my left pec doing 182.5kg for triples :geek: ever since my bench hasn't come back so just stuck with bodybuilding.

Hey mate I feel for you. It's been 16 weeks since my tear.. I have a prominent visual sent with top off hate it..what rehab have you incorporated. I couldn't afford any.. doctors don't care either as it's aesthetic and self inflicted. I had one physio visit at first. She said it was a grade 2 tear. But I guess I will never know unless I had an MRI scan. I am benching well again but like yourself nowhere near my best. Only up to 130kg bench just now for a triple which I guess is progress given where I was.
